Lima Memorial Auxiliary and School of Nursing Alumnae Awards Local Students with Scholarships

Each year the Lima Memorial Auxiliary and Lima Memorial School of Nursing Alumnae awards scholarships to deserving, local students who plan to pursue a career in the medical field. These outstanding students will ultimately make a difference in many lives through their chosen profession. Receiving the Lima Memorial Auxiliary scholarships are Sarah Miller and Jacob Kahle and receiving the Lima Memorial School of Nursing Alumnae scholarships are Meghan Ream and Karis Wilson. Starting this year the Lima Memorial Auxiliary is also giving a volunteen scholarship, to a Lima Memorial senior volunteen.

Sarah Miller is a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School and will attend The Ohio State University in the fall to study Occupational Therapy. Miller is the daughter of Samuel and Angela Miller. Jacob Kahle is a graduate of Kalida High School and is undecided on where he will attend college in the fall, but plans to study pre-med. Kahle is the son of Mark and Deborah Kahle. Meghan Ream is a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School and will attend Bluffton University with plans to pursue a career in nursing. Ream is the daughter of Terry Ream and Julie Klaus. Karis Wilson is a graduate of Bluffton High School and plans to pursue a career in nursing. Wilson is the daughter of Kent and Colleen Wilson.

New in 2018 is the Lima Memorial Volunteer Scholarship.  To be eligible for this scholarship opportunity, the student must be a senior volunteen who has volunteered at least 40 hours to Lima Memorial. Receiving the 2018 Volunteer Scholarship is Hannah Roof. Roof is the daughter of Randy and April Roof and is a graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She will be pursuing a career in nursing in the fall.   

The Lima Memorial Auxiliary will also be recognizing its 2017 Volunteen of the Year. This year’s honoree, Madison Wiseman, will be a senior at Columbus Grove in the fall. She is the is the daughter of Steve and Pam Wiseman. Madison first became a volunteen at Lima Memorial in the summer of 2016. She has assisted in several areas in the hospital including the Farmer’s Market and the Volunteer Department. In 2017, Madison volunteered an astounding 135 hours.
